North Head Lighthouse is located 2 miles north of the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse here in Washington State. North Head is one of the windiest places in the United States with winds clocked at 100 mph to above 126 mph. The tower is brick masonry with a cement plaster overlay built on a sandstone foundation which is in need of repair. Only 69 steps lead to the lantern room, which is 65 feet from the ground and 194 feet above sea level.

My love for photography began when I was very young; as the photo shows me reaching for dad's new Leica camera. My 1st camera a Kodak, was given to me by my father back before grade school. The camera even had film in it. The only thing I remember about this camera was that you viewed through the top. Dad was a professional photographer most of his life. So you might say that I have inherited my father's eye to see the beauty of this world. I want to dedicate this page to my best friend, who is also my wonderful wife, Phyllis.
